Karinna’s in human resources in a position called “Colleague Experience Manager” at the Andaz Napa, where helping her colleagues feel connected and supported at work is what matters to her most.
From Housekeeping to Human Resources Manager
Karinna started in housekeeping in Puerto Rico, transitioned to front desk, then back to housekeeping as a supervisor. She’s worked in her native Puerto Rico, Colorado and in San Francisco. Now, she’s in human resources as a colleague experience manager at the Andaz Napa. She enjoys making the workplace more human and helping her colleagues feel valued. Karinna’s on a path to becoming a general manager, or maybe owning her own hotel someday in Puerto Rico.
“I think that the best thing that I can say to a person who is about to consider working in the hotel industry is that they start wherever, be it in restaurants, be it the room, be it in front desk, just start. And once you start, you will realize all the different doors that can be opened. There are no limits.”
